I can still taste the cafe au lait. . .

It seems like only yesterday when I sat in my great grandmother's kitchen as she made those wonderful noises in her big pot. I can still smell those savory spices in the simmering sauce cooking over a slow, gas fire. My childhood memories are replete with thoughts of the comfort and love my grandmother showed with the gift of her cooking. The extra special T.L.C. was evidenced in every bite of the delicious food that Grandma prepared with such ease. To help me wait for dinner, she used to make a warm cup of cafe au lait (half New Orleans coffee and chickory mixed with half warm milk) that I sipped upon, patiently awaiting a wonderful meal. . .

Hoping to share a little of that T.L.C., I have compiled my grandmother's favorite recipes, and am now making them available to you. Maybe you never had a grandmother to cook for you, or maybe you had a wonderful grandmother like I did. In any case, I am sure that you will enjoy each of these tantalizing dishes in the tradition of Old New Orleans Cuisine.
